Top 5 Things to Do in Shëngjin

Shëngjin sits on the Albanian Adriatic coast, about an hour north of Tirana. It's a working fishing town that turns into a beach destination from June through September. Here are five ways to spend a day, all reachable from Twin Towers Hotel.

1. Relax on Shëngjin Beach

Just steps from the hotel, Shëngjin Beach offers golden sand and calm Adriatic waters. Our private beach area provides sun loungers and umbrellas, so you can enjoy a perfect beach day without leaving the comfort of our service.

2. Visit Rozafa Castle in Shkodra

A 45-minute drive north takes you to Rozafa, one of Albania's older fortified sites. It sits on a rocky hilltop above Lake Shkodra, with views north over the lake and on to Montenegro. The castle museum is open year-round and holds artefacts from the Illyrian period through the Ottoman era.

3. Explore the Lezhë Skanderbeg Memorial

11 minutes from the hotel, the Lezhë hilltop castle has Adriatic views and houses the Skanderbeg memorial museum. Skanderbeg, Albania's national hero, called the meeting of Albanian princes here in 1444 to organise resistance against the Ottoman Empire.

4. Day Trip to Kruja & the Old Bazaar

About an hour south, the mountain town of Kruja is a symbol of Albanian resistance. Explore the 15th-century castle, visit the Skanderbeg National Museum, and browse the 400-year-old bazaar with over 150 artisan shops selling traditional crafts, textiles, and souvenirs.

5. Seafood Dining on the Riviera

The Albanian coast has good fresh seafood — most kitchens buy from boats landing at Shëngjin port the same morning. Our restaurant serves locally caught fish and traditional Albanian dishes, but Goga Fish Restaurant (350m) and Ermiri Palace (250m) are both within walking distance if you want to compare.

Getting around: We offer airport shuttle services and our front desk team can arrange car hire, guided tours, and transfers to all nearby attractions. Just ask at reception!
